The extensive Ordnance Survey Historical Mapping Archive has been digitised. This enables us by using the Mapmaker-Plus system to produce an Historical map centred on any location in England & Wales.

Please note: This product is only available for areas in England & Wales

The maps are at a scale of 1:2,500 and will use a composite of the appropriate map sheets to generate map centred on the details you give us.

Please Note: Because these maps (known as County Series maps) were surveyed on a local county meridian, the grid line will be off-set to the modern National Grid and will be off set at county boundaries.

Important: If you are on the county boundary your map may contain an area of white space for the mapping that is 'over the border'. We strongly advise you to contact us before placing your order if you are near a county boundary

Coverage: Isle of Man, Channel Islands and Ireland (The North and The Republic of) are not covered by these maps

These historical maps have been created by combining numerous different sheets and that at times visible joins and variations in background colour are inevitable.

Due to differences in surveying techniques and cartographic accuracy the historical maps should not be relied upon exclusively for navigation or to reference a particular location.
