Flat, Rolled & Laminated Map
Following on from the popular Somme Map, Richard Chandler has produced a WW1 Battlefield Aerial Map Of The Ypres Salient.
Richards hand painted, yet accurate portrayal of the landscape enables the user to gain an instant appreciation of the terrain that was the scene of 4 years bitter fighting around the town of Ypres, Belgium.
Battle lines, together with text, in present day usage as well as WW1 place names, are shown in a way that is uncluttered and easy on the eye.
The locations of over 140 Cemeteries are marked and listed alphabetically alongside on this single sided convenient sized map. Most major memorials and places of interest are also included.
If you are visiting the area or conducting armchair research, this map will assist you immensely.
A2 size 594 x 420mm. Available flat, laminated, or folded.
These Fir Tree Aerial Maps of the Somme and the Ypres Salient are so good that, in case I lose one, I have already bought two copies of each! I have many guides for Western Front field trips, which I have been doing for years, but none is as accessible as these. For both the novice and the slightly more experienced visitor, they make 'finding your way around' so much easier, not just literally but also when reading up on the key engagements of the First World War. I recommend that you get both into your rucksack without delay!
Customer feedback for this map
"Just back from a four day visit to the Ypres Salient and I just wanted to say how useful we found your map. The overlay of battle sites, trench lines, cemeteries and the modern day road infrastructure made both planing our trip and navigating our way round really easy. The cemetery index was particularly useful as there were certain graves we wanted to locate. I think the map is a must for anyone visiting Ypres / Passchendaele and I would absolutely recommend investing in a copy." Allister Meal"
